Information on Kayaking and Canoeing
Kayaking and Canoeing is generally ran on a sheltered, private lake at Cobbs Cross Farm. It is also possible to use slow moving rivers and canals in Somerset or elsewhere. Half day sessions are ideal as an introduction to paddlesports but we can run more advanced courses for full or half days. Suitable for all from the age of ten upwards.
The kayaks are smaller boats than you sit inside with a double blade paddle. Canoes are bigger boats, that fit up to three people in and use a single blade paddle.
All specialist equipment such as Buoyancy aids, helmets, waterproof jackets and booties are supplied, together with fully qualified instruction.
Be prepared to get wet. Bring a complete change of clothing and a towel.
We do run courses for BCU Star Awards and Paddlepower awards.
